BRIEF HISTORY OF RADECS

1987: After a strong European attendance at IEEE Nuclear & Space Radiation Effects Conference, Snowmass, Colorado – USA, a group, led by Professor Jean GASIOT, decided to create a European Conference: RADECS 84439986hist87-jpg

1989: September, 1st RADECS Conference (5 days) organised in La Grand-Motte, only in the French language. Three invited speakers : Len ADAMS (ESA), E.G. STASSINOPOULOS (NASA GSFC) & Kenneth F. GALLOWAY (University of Arizona)

1991: September, 1st RADECS Conference (5 days) organised in La Grand-Motte, in the English language. The aim was to repeat the event every two years

1992: Creation of “ASSOCIATION RADECS” in the frame of the “loi de 1901” French law.

1992: Election of the RADECS Steering Committee 1992-1997

1995: Creation of a “RADECS Liaison” position at IEEE Radiation Effects Steering Group (RESG). “RADECS Liaison” at IEEE RESG: CALVEL
